While working at Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, I wrote the emails for our annual year-end fundraiser. Each would come from different important voices in the organization, whether it be members or staff.

I grew up at Iowa CCI. I was a take action baby. My dad is founding director Joe Fagan, and he made sure I was at every action.

I’m not the kind of person to step aside and let politics—decisions about our lives—happen to us.
